I go along seeing people push gyro aiming as superior to the traditional dual-stick layout for FPS/TPS games. I don't have very much feel trying it out -- mostly using the gyro arrow in Dreams and in the PS4 track shooter Blue Manor. Information technology'south always seemed pretty wonky and imprecise to me, and it often feels like you take to re-center yourself a flake much. Seems like it's always kinda hard to stay steady and to keep a bead on a moving target (or staying targeted while y'all're moving).

Simply hey, maybe I'k just non playing games that have been tuned properly. What should I be trying? I would prefer titles on PS4, only want to hear about the Switch's best too.

If you have a competent gaming PC, utilize Steam Input &/or JoyShockMapper to incorporate gyro aiming (& flick stick, if yous use JoyShockMapper)

If y'all desire to try it on console, Switch games like Splatoon 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, DOOM, Paladins, & more offering the option. Hell, Breath of the Wild allows you to aim your bow using the gyroscope. For PS4 specifically, Days Gone & Paladins allow you to use gyro aiming.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

My first experience with it and yet 1 of the best implementations.

Days Gone has Gyro Aiming added recently if you are looking for a PS4 title
  • #11
Heard Days Gone has it on PS4, but I haven't tried it myself. Personaly favourites have been Uncharted Golden Completeness, Killzone Mercenary, and Jiff of the Wild.

Lots of people say Splatoon 2, but information technology's the only Gyro aiming I've played that I just can't get used to. Dissimilar the rest, it disables I think Y axis aiming on the controller? No matter what command scheme I use Splatoon always feels awkward personally. Recall I merely like Gyro if it's assisted, not forced.

I loved using gyro in Wolfenstein 2 on Switch.

Warframe, as you will really spend a lot of time jumping and gliding in the air and doing parkour while nailing headshots with a precision weapon.

I don't concord that Splatoon is the all-time game to learn it on. I much prefer the implementation in BOTW.
In Splatoon you rotate the Ten-axis with the right stick and gyro is generally for Y-centrality.
In BOTW. You lot utilize the right stick for aiming, with gyro for the last ten percentage of fine control. Its really the best aiming I've ever experienced on console.

Been playing Days Gone and I like the way they implemented it. It'due south good for subtle adjustments.

Whatsoever switch game that uses it is better for it, split joycons only works so well for it.
Metroid Prime 3 was the commencement game that really nailed it for me.
The trilogy has it as well which is absurd.

Information technology also works actually well in Splatoon 2, Breath of the Wild, even Wolfenstien 2 on switch was really fun to play with gyro

Metroid Prime 3 was the offset game that really nailed it for me.

Resident Evil 4 becomes almost cleaved of how good it controls on the wii.

Similar yous could sniper zombies with the pistol because of the laser sight

Splatoon two as others said.

Fortnite on Switch likewise uses gyro aiming well too.

Days Gone. Platinumed the game a few months ago using it.

Only exist mindful gyro is NOT a replacement for sticks.

It'due south complementary. Used to fine tune and make precision adjusts that are much, much cleaner than what the sticks can offering for minor adjusts.

Like information technology helps avoid the feeling of constantly overshooting specific targets like tires or headshots because the stick sensitivity or throw only isn't fine plenty with slight nudges.

And then just expect to continue using the stick as usual and add in a bit of movement hither and at that place to recoup for some needed adjusts. Feels incredible with a fleck of use and I honestly at present wish every PS4 game supported it.

I genuinely don't "get" the implementation of gyro aiming in Splatoon 2. Something about it doesn't click with me but I love information technology and I'chiliad good with it in about other games.

Non "aiming" per se, but gran turismo sport is what fabricated me a believer. Didn't feel like hooking upwards my cycle one day, tried gyro steering, and some time after, it felt really really good. Aiming, steering, same deviation.

Another vote for Splatoon 2. It takes a while to get used to the gyro controls, but one time you do it becomes one of the nigh accurately controlled shooters on Switch.

People hither are forgetting the classic gyro controls that revolutionized the video gaming history.

Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Resort.

I am only quoting you because I hate your avatar. It's a nice piece of hair you have there.

Gravity Rush ii, information technology's pretty hard to play without the gyro. It was my first gyro aiming game (on the Vita) and I've wanted gyro aiming on every game ever since. It also helps that y'all constantly accept to reorient yourself in the game, helping break the misconception that gyro aiming is similar to aiming at a signal on the screen (like it was on the Wii or a light gun game). Just think of it equally another analog stick with even effectively caste of control (since you tin control it with your fingers, your wrists, or your arm).

If you have a Vita, Killzone Mercenary is a corking game with one of the best implementations of gyro aiming on a shooter (sticks for wide movements, gyro for fine tuning).

I don't have any good choices for the two consoles you listed but I'chiliad gonna give an honorable mention to ocarina of fourth dimension 3Ds. Something was and then sweetly satisfying near shooting spiders with the movie of my wrist

botw imo is the best followed by splatoon as mentioned

Information technology works best as a slight aligning to aiming rather than a full replacement.

But yeah Splatoon 2

Warframe on PC with a steam controller. Touching the touchpad to activate gyro and lifting your thumb to conciliate it is so so much better than a reset button like splatoon

Doom 2016 on Switch.

Too Doom 2016 on Steam with Steam Input and a DS4/Switch Pro Controller.

Breath of the Wild is a chip of a mixed handbag. Gyro aiming with the bow is godlike. Meanwhile the shrines that rely on gyro are non very good, although fortunately there aren't many of them.

Like people have said, it'due south best used to make slight adjustements to your aiming.

Splatoon 2 and Doom 2016 are both really good implementations of gyro aiming on the Switch.

Yous tin also just sync your DS4 to your PC and futz about with Steam Input.

Those are not gyro controls.
Hmmm, you're correct.

When I reading up nigh Wii Motion Plus, they say the manufacturer "offered a multi-axis MEMS gyroscope to Nintendo that, when combined with the other sensors and the sensor bar, offers a true six-axis motion controller experience."

Disregard my postal service above. Thanks.

MP3 and Trilogy used by and large IR aiming. I believe gyro was generally for gestures

+1 for not liking Splatoon 2 gyro. Too restrictive. I want full aim on the stick and gyro, don't limit information technology to one axis. Can't wrap my listen around that

Ocarina of Fourth dimension 3D likewise has gyro aiming on 3DS and it feels nifty.

I recollect I would enjoy shooters more than on PS4 if they'd add in a gyro options. I really baffles me that nearly no studio does

Metroid Prime Trilogy the thread. I can't believe how much ameliorate those games are with gyro. I can't go back to the GCN versions of ane&2 anymore because of it.

The PC version of Binary Domain with DS4 gyro + Steam Input and aim help turned off is kind of astonishing.

Equally yous tin can see OP at that place's not a huge amount of pick on PS4. PC and Switch titles are your best shot hither.

Plain Paladins has it but ive never used information technology so I don't know how well its implemented.

Even so paladins is costless to play so probably worth checking out.

On the PC I recommend Red Dead Redemption 2. Information technology has an admittedly horrible aiming implementation on PS4 (or just using regular stick controls) where information technology's difficult to make work without a heavy dose of the worst aim assist I've seen. On PC, no need for that as gyro aim gives you dandy precision.
